Celebrating Black History Month 2025: Amplifying Voices and Driving Impact
October is a time to celebrate the achievements, stories, and contributions of the Black British community.
At GottaBe! Ethnic, we use this month to reflect, learn, and share insights that help brands and organisations connect authentically with Black audiences.
Standing Firm in Power and Pride
This year’s Black History Month theme, “Standing Firm in Power and Pride”, celebrates the resilience, strength, and progress of the Black community. It reminds us to honour the past, acknowledge present challenges, and work towards a future where every voice is heard and valued.
Driving Change Through Meaningful Work
At GottaBe! Ethnic, we’re proud to help organisations connect authentically with Black British audiences and this Black History Month is no exception. One example is our partnership with DKMS UK on their “Listen to Your Aunties!” campaign.
Launched across London, Birmingham, and Leicester, this campaign encourages Black and South Asian communities to join the stem cell donor register, giving hope to people worldwide with blood cancers or disorders. Featuring DKMS’s Aunties on billboards, buses, social media, and in-person events, the campaign delivers a simple but powerful message: more diverse donors = more lives saved.
Finding a matching stem cell donor strongly correlates with ethnic background, yet only 16% of UK donors are from minority ethnic backgrounds. By amplifying DKMS’s campaign, we’re helping to raise awareness of the urgent need for diversity on the register and encouraging more people to take part in this lifesaving initiative.
And that’s just one of the ways we’re using Black History Month to support meaningful work. Keep an eye out… another exciting campaign helping charities connect with Black British audiences is coming soon!

Everyone Doing It Together
Beyond campaigns, we’re also using Black History Month to foster conversations within the marketing and communications industry.
Our annual Everyone Doing It Together event creates a safe space for brands, marketers, and organisations to have real, raw, and honest conversations about DEI and multicultural marketing.
By sharing experiences, insights, and practical strategies, the event encourages attendees to take meaningful action in how they engage with diverse audiences.
Looking Ahead
Black History Month is a reminder of the importance of celebrating voices, sharing stories, and driving action. At GottaBe! Ethnic, we’re committed to helping organisations do just that — creating campaigns, conversations, and experiences that resonate, educate, and inspire.
Stay tuned this month as we continue to share insights, stories, and examples of work that makes a difference.
